Scope

This symposium is prepared for studies on advanced nanoparticles. The nanoparticles in this symposium include organic, inorganic, and polymeric particles with novel structure, stimuli-responsiveness, or functionality. Many efforts have ever been directed to the synthesis of nonoparticles with novel structures such as hollow, yolk-shell, cubic, planer and other architectures. Recent progress of the methodologies for the synthesis and characterization will be discussed. Stimuli-responsive polymer assemblies including polymeric micelles, nano-gels, and vesicles are also interesting topics in this symposium. They change their structures and properties in response to outer stimuli such as pH, heat, light, and magnetic/electric fields. Functional nanoparticles also fall in a scope of this symposium. Nanoparticles with immune-responsiveness, fluorescence-emission, color-switching, and other functionalities will be treated. The applications of these nanoparticles are of great importance. The applications to drug delivery systems, food stuff, cosmetics, sensors, self-regulated actuators, batteries, fillers, and other areas will be discussed.
